Individual Professional AWARDs
The ACI Houston Chapter has opened nominations for its Annual Member Awards to be presented at the January 2026 Annual Meeting. Nominations close on December 5, 2025. There is no cost to submit, however the requirements listed below should be carefully observed. Each award has a link to submit.

FOUNDATION AWARD
Awarded Annually
- Awarded to a company (Architecture, Engineering, Contractor) that has promoted the advancement of the concrete industry.
- The company must be an organizational member of the ACI Houston Chapter
- Each entry must contain up to 400-word description of how the company promoted the use and advancement of concrete, notable achievements in, or service to, the concrete industry. Project examples and budgets are encouraged but not required.
- A high resolution of the Company’s logo is required with submission. Please email the logo to [email protected].

PROFESSIONAL EXCELLENCE AWARD
Awarded Annually
- Awarded to an individual (Architect, Engineer, Contractor) that has promoted the advancement of the concrete industry.
- The individual must be a member of the ACI Houston Chapter
- Each entry must contain up to 250-word description of how the individual has promoted the use and advancement of concrete, notable achievements in, or service to, the concrete industry.
- A high-resolution photo of the individual is required with submission. Please email the photo to [email protected].

L. Blake Fentress AWARD
The L. Blake Fentress Award may be presented annually to an outstanding member of the Houston Chapter of the American Concrete Institute by their peers in recognition of leadership and excellence in their field of endeavor and unselfish service to the Chapter. The qualifications for the L. Blake Fentress Award are as follows:
- Continuous membership in the Houston Chapter ACI for the past five years.
- Continuous membership in National ACI for the past five years.

Active participation in Houston Chapter activities during the past five years.
Concrete EMPLOYEE/TECHNICIAN award
Awarded Annually
- Awarded to an individual that is employed by a company in the concrete industry.
- The individual does not have to be a member of the ACI Houston Chapter; however, the employer must be an organizational member of the ACI Houston Chapter.
- Each entry must contain up to 250-word description of how the individual has promoted the use and advancement of concrete, notable achievements in, or service to, the concrete industry.
- A high-resolution photo of the individual is required with submission. Please email the photo to [email protected].

PROFESSOR ACHIEVEMENT AWARD – $500 GRANT
Awarded Annually
- Awarded to a Professor that has promoted the advancement of the concrete industry (Check is payable to the University).
- The individual must be a member of the ACI Houston Chapter
- Each entry must contain up to 250-word description of how the professor promoted the use and advancement of concrete.
- A high-resolution photo of the individual is required with submission. Please email the photo to [email protected].

STUDENT MEMBER AWARD – $500 SCHOLARSHIP
- Awarded to a Student that is pursuing a degree in the field of concrete (Engineering, Construction, etc.) Scholarship awarded directly to student.
- The individual must be an active member of the Houston Chapter
- Each entry must contain up to 250-word description of how the student’s service to the advancement of the concrete industry.
- A high-resolution photo of the individual is required with submission. Please email the photo to [email protected].
- GPA minimum is 2.5
